I-DEAS 9 ml : Program Error

Hi,

I'm using I-DEAS 9 ml, and a program error appears in an surface extrude operation.

the error message:

subtab.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program.

the error log file:

This run of I-DEAS has ABNORMALLY ended. (Segmentation Violation)

hi,
generally this happens when multiple keys are operated at some instants. Try to do the same operation carefully, i think the problem problem may not be consistant. Instead of using Mouse, use key board "Enter" for selection of "OK".

My feeling is that your problem has nothing to do with
multiple keys...

I would suggest to :

1) Check the section you are trying to extrude
2) Check the Part on which you are working. The error may
not be due to the extrude itselft but to previous errors.
3) Clean you part and model. Try to check in and out in a new
Model file.
4) Last, check your system configuration.

Just for information...
u may encounter such problem when u try to modify the section in the part which is created in an earlier version of I-deas.
Try using 'migrate' command in the 'modify section' form.

I think I've encountered a similar problem. In my case, the surface-by-bounday command won't work and would log out of IDEAS. Installation errors. You might need to reinstall your IDEAS to fix this.
