I-DEAS and Spaceball

I am using I-deas and a spaceball. I am having trouble as I cannot select anything after I manipulate the model with the spaceball....I need to hit F1, F2 or F3 to "wake up" the model.

Can anyone help - I am at a loss. My buddy has no problem with this - but we can't see how my settings are any different.

I know you can't select an entity while you are moving the model with a Spaceball, so is it possible that there is a small amount of "creep" in the device. ie. while not touching it the model would slowly move across the screen or slowly rotate. If so you need to "zero" the device.
