I entered the following on the HVAC, no answer was available. Maybe here as it is (or could be) an NFPA issue.

I am working on replacement of steam lines in a campus setting. Decision was made to go with a pre-engineer system. I am having a problem selecting proper NFPA for E84 requirements. Medium pressure no problem.

For a steam pipe line in an underground tunnel, unoccupied other than O&M work, no sprinkler system exists. We also have medium pressure, no problem finding E84 rating of 25/50. Would NFPA 520 be proper fit or NFPA 90A fo4r campus steam distribution to meet building interior standards. The application paragraph, 1.3 for NFPA 90A does not seem to be applicable. The 25/50 is assumed using guide specifications, but written as a Division 23 assumption. Spec to describe it is 33 63 00. Any suggestions?

NFPA has no standard governing the construction of unoccupied utility tunnels on private property. I don't understand the rest of question. I'm assuming you're reference to E84 is ASTM E84, which is the fire test for interior finish materials.

Stoogeyfpe,

I'm asking this because multiple manufacturers are including ASTM E84 in their advertising, and some include it only to medium pressure steam. The closest I could find is NFPA 520. That does not quite to fit, either.
