i have monthly reservoir elevation-discharge- storage.i gave input as monthly reservoir data as elevation-storage.elevation-discharge. but it showing error as ERROR 41553: Values in elevation-storage or storage-discharge table are not ascending for reservoir "Reservoir-1".
ERROR 40052: Found "1" errors in basin model "Basin 1". how it can recover.can i put elevation storage as monthly wise data?

When requesting help on these forums, it is necessary to provide enough basic information for others to be able to provide that help (sorry, but this happens all too often).

*What software are you using?
*Exactly what section of the program are you trying to use the monthly data for?
(if it is typical stage-storage-discharge used in many Hyddrology & Hydraulics programs, the data WOULD typically need to be ascending values, not monthly data – you would need to sort your data accordingly)

Not knowing the context of your question. My comments above may be way off.

SORRY.iam using hechms for modelling runoff.i have monthly reservoir data like eleation-area-storage.whether i can put directly it in to the model?

the elevation-storage and storage-discharge tables are for routing flow through a reservoir and must be in ascending order. they generally are not monthly recorded data points.

is the discharge from the reservoir and release from reservoir are same?

i have monthly issues from the reservoir in Mcft(inside basin and outside basin like canal withdrawals). how it is converted into discharge?

you need instantaneous flow rates, not monthly volume totals. your discharge should be in cubic meters per second.

whether this discharge is discharge from the dam for various purpose or the discharge from the downstream/outlet structures of the dam?

elevation-storage.elevation-discharge data needs to be in instantaneous flow rates. HMS will report total releases for various time periods when you run the model

You run the model for a particular storm, usually a 24 hour storm, but it can be longer. The data entries and outputs are in 10 minute or so increments with outflow rates and reservoir heights shown for the outlet specified.
