Hi, I am a hobbyist working on adapting a speed-density EFI system to run a common US automotive V8 engine. I'm trying to develop a basic engine simulator to run the EFI system against to validate some EFI system configuration choices I need to make. The engine simulator platform I have available is an AXIOM CME-555 Development Board which uses a Freescale MPC555 MCU. Can anyone point me to a good ref source for info on developing a reasonable IC engine response math model I can use to program the simulator's response to EFI system inputs? The biggest question I have right now is how to reasonably model manifold vacuum vs throttle position vs engine rpm. Thanks

Are you aware of GT Power and other available off the shelf engine modelling packages? It sounds like you're trying to "roll your own" which is admirable, but I'm wondering why and if you know the magnitude of this undertaking. If you were really equipped to do this I doubt you would be posting basic questions like "how to reasonably model manifold vacuum vs throttle position vs engine rpm".
