I have read previous posts about creating IGS files from a solid model and wonder why it can't be done internal to the program? I have also tried the command prompt suggestions, but can't get this to work either?

Any other suggestions to enable the I server (unset SDRC_OI_OFF)would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

What version of I-DEAS are you running and what OS do you have installed. For instance v9 and older are not supported on XP Pro.

It's very unusual that the old IGES translator doesn't work through the command prompt using either.
/xto co bo fc ex
/xto co bo fc im
Do you have an license for the IGES Translator?

RCDLtd,

Once again thanks for your reply. I'm running Ideas 10 (NX) on windows 2000.

Not sure I'm doing the command prompt thing correctly since it doesn't recognize the xto command? Should I be at a certain directory to run your suggested string?
/xto co bo fc ex
/xto co bo fc im

Yes I believe we have a license for the translator, but I guess I need to check that out again. The option shows up under File, export, (with all the other types of files we can write)?

You run the "/xto co bo fc ex" command from the I-DEAS Prompt window. Sorry, previously using the term "command prompt" was misleading.

On the Hardware/Software spec info that I have v10 should be run on XP Pro. I wonder if anyone else has v10 successfully running (including Orbix) in W2K.

Thanks so much for youe help with the IGS file creation, it seems to be working if you use your suggested string in the Ideas prompt window.

Thanks Again.
