Hello,

I have a query regarding how to identify vibration limits for an equipment with multiple components. For example, a pump that is drive by motor.

For motor ISO 10816-3 identifies the vibration limits for electric driven in class 1 & 2 whereas class 3 & 4 are for pumps. So while defining the limits, the alarm for motor will be selected from 1&2 and similarly for motor from 3&4. Similarly, if a gearbox is involved how would we go about then?

if it is for machinery protection - follow what oem provides

if it is for inhouse monitoring - to know the best possible earliest indication of impending faults, you may want to lower alarms for different equipments based on trends that the machine operates normally

i am assuming here that you have online monitoring for the machine in question here
