PCB Board below broken diode says "51V" and what remains of the diode (it's glass, broken in half) is red in color...... 51V zener diode would be my guess, and it's small in size (DO-35) but not the smallest diode I've seen (tiny bit smaller than a standard 1/4 watt resistor) any help in identifying this component? Thanks...

Could also be a 5.1V. Try looking at a schematic if you have one to determine what it is. Also, knowing what is hooked to either end may also help in identification.

Can you send me photo by email?

5.1V tends to be written 5V1 in Europe, using the letter as the decimal point. Is this not the standard in the States?

My guess, if it's a 51V device in a DO-35, it's probably a 1/2 watt Zener equivalent to a 1N5262B (51V @ 2.5mA Izt)
