Identifying something in a hydraulic curcuit

I am trying to figure out what something is in a circuit.

A couple pictures of it.

The block that the pictures are focused on is leaking at two points and I don't know what it is. Connected to it is a bi-directional blocking solenoid operated poppet valve (which is what is seen the the DSC00013 picture on the right side of the picture).

I am trying to figure this out because I got a call about it (the valve I mentioned is manufactured by the company I work for). I asked the more experienced people here about it and they had no idea what it was.

I asked about what the machine the valve and unidentified body are on and what on the machine they are connected to, but I have not received a reply yet. I'll update when I hopefully get more information if no one can identify what it is.

I have not gotten a response from who I was talking to. I agree that is looks like a relief valve, I was and am confused that I don't see a way that the valve was tightened into the body. Given the pictures don't show the valve from better direction to clear up my confusion. Other than that, thanks for the input and hopefully the guy I was talking to will get his problem solved.

maybe the cartridge doesn't thread into the manifold, but goes through and the large hex on the far side might hold it like a large nut. I assumed it was just an normal port adaptor to mount the valve, but maybe there is some sort of wierd 'thinking out of the box' design of the cartridge. Or any hidden Staple Lock clips?

I am curious, let us know what you find.

The housing that appears to contain the adjusting screw and spring may have a cylindrical portion machined for the valve function that fits bores in the main housing and is threaded to what appears to be the port fitting in the pictures.

I think that the 2 blocks make a de-constructed vented relief valve. The bigger block being the main stage with the vent going to the smaller block that has the adjustment on the top.
