I have saved a Solid Works solid model as IGES file in oreder to get a rapid prototyping part. The prepared file for rapid prototyping has some facetings like bad resolution and other surfaces defects not or slightly visible in Solid Works.Usualy you can not see them in SW if you are not aware. How can I fix the SW file?
Thank you.

IGES files are one of the worst file types in regards to results of the model translation. If your in SW you can try and run the import Diagnostics to have SW try and fix the file automatically. If SW can't do it automatically, you are going to have to do it manually. The one tool to help you to determine the problem areas are Tools\Check. This will show you the areas of interest. You will have to learn how to use the surface tools to complete this job. Solids will not work with surfaces. You will have to make your surface model into a Water tight surface and then you can transform it back into a solid, by knitting the surface to a Solid. Knit is a command inside SW surface toolbar (FYI).

Any reason you wouldn't export an STL file directly out of SWX rather than an IGES file? Most, if not all, RP systems use STL files as input. You can control the resolution of your STL file at the time of export.
