I'm looking at some print outs from CHERRYLOCK and CHERRYMAX but they don't have the information I'm looking for so I thought an Aerospace person smarter than myself (as there are countless)may be of some assistance. Does anyone know the difference between CR2162A-4-02 and CR2162-4-02? I can't find anything telling me what the "a" stands for. Thanks for the help.

nothing on the catalog (at peerlessaerospace.com)

another day in paradise, or is paradise one day closer ?

from the NAS spec, there is no "A" where you have it. Between dia and grip (ie CR2162-4A2) it means fully serrated stem.

Why not call Cherry and ask? They do seem to be violating their numbering scheme described in their catalog (picture is crap, but only one I could find):

I have been trying to call them all morning and have left messages. I'll keep trying.

FYI, only...

According to the attached [old] Cherry Aerospace Master Cross-Listing,
NAS1399DFC()-() = CR2162A-()-()

Per NAS1399...

D = 2017-T4 (UNS A92017) PER QQ-A-430
FC = CHEMICAL FILM ONLY

do you have a 2162A on hand ?

not sure where you are (OEM or mod-shop) but can you follow the trail ...
1) you've got something in your hand that says 2162A ... what references ?
2) is there a drwg that calls 2162A ?
3) is the planning paperwork to show it was done ? (or did they order 2162 ?)
4) is there inspection sign off to confirm it was done ?
