This is related with the Subsea 400kV Power Cable crossing number of subsea FO cables at almost 90 degree . The concern is EMF from subsea AC power cable could impact the FO cable's performance as it could affect the copper conductor of the FO cable that powers the repeaters. If the repeater(s) cannot have the continuous required power as per their design, the data transmission capability could be disrupted hence the concern.
My question is how exactly the induced Electro magnetic Field (EMF) or thereby the induced Voltage/current may impact the copper conductors within FOC, power supply to Repeaters and overall performance of FOC it self ? If we simulate the above using the software such as CYMCAP and able to calculate the induced Voltage/Current in copper conductor, then what will be the limiting values to confirm satisfactory operation of the FOC system?
