I'd like to ask U is there another way to perform an impact test of the tube bundle material as I mentioned in the subject.
Charpy method is not fisible to be done because of the tube thickness.

During TA we had cut a part of the bundle to perform distructive tests and see what hapeness after 100.000 hours of work in 450 C deg.
One test that we are not able to do is impact test to see how brittle material is.

Thanks in advance.

Subsize specimens can readily be obtained from your 7.6 mm thick tubes.

Why not cut one or more sample tubes and do a bend test? It is simple and will inform you of remaining ductility in the material. CVN testing is not typical for this type of application.

For this type of application FATT50 is needed - that it why I need impact test.

As for the probe to the Charpy method 10x5mm is the smallest , I think that I will try to inform the supplier to try again and cut these probes.

Thanks for your answers.
