Dear

i am working with IMPACT analysis. i model a bar with velocity v, touch to a rigid body. My problem is that, the bar freely go throught the rigid body. it seem there was no any impact. What's problem???

Hi

Have you defined the *CONTACT PAIR or *CONTACT?

Are the surface normals pointing the right way? You can check this in Viewer.

Dear

Sure that i have checked all of it before i asked for help. I have defined a contact pair between the regid body and the bar, also checked the surface normals. But the prolem still happen.

i do not know what should be try next????

Thanks

Is the deformation plot factor set to 1.0 ?

The plots of the solution for the problems involving contact may look wrong, showing overlapping of the bodies in contact if the deformation plot factor is higher than one.

Dear

i don't understand for the deformation plot factor, and don't know where to check it? anyway, my problem close to ex "crusing of tube" in ABAQUS/explicit: keywords. I do the same thing for my model, the above problem happened. I come back to do again ex by ABAQUS CAE, the tupe also freely go through the rigid plate. What should be consider in this case. (i have check many cases of surface normals.)???????

Hi

What Xerf means is that you should check the Deformation Scale Factor in Viewer. You can find it in "Options > Common Plot Options". Make sure that this is set to zero.
