Impedance Grounded Systems 1

Hello Gents,
I read a technical article that states, "In an impedance-grounded system, the neutral reference can be offset from center..".
Does anyone know why this would be the case or can point to a technical resource where this would be explained?

It depends what the reference point is. Any current through the grounding impedance will cause a voltage drop between the wye point and the ground. This voltage drop, will cause a neutral shift, relative to a ground reference.
