We have a customer in the oil and gas business that wants us to provide our equipment with
“WITSML Communications Protocol via RJ-45 port" I did some research to determine that WITSML is an XML based protocol and assume that RJ45 port is an Ethernet port. Does anyone have experience implementing WITSML with a PLC? What exactly is involved?

IRStuff. Thanks for the response. I will check out the standard from Energetics. In the meantime, I'm hoping to get some guidance from someone with practical experience with the WITSML protocol being used to transfer data generated by a PLC via it's Modbus port.

I suggest you delete this thread and re-post in a forum that's more related to your specific industry, since your question is extremely specific to oil and gas.
