Import CSV or TXT point cloud file?

I'm new to Inventor & the Autodesk products in general so please excuse my ignorance.

I'm finding it frustratingly difficult to find a clear explaination on how to import point data in CSV or TXT format.

I honestly thought this would be a simple procedure.

Is ther a simple 'import' fuction I'm missing?

Did you see this?.. I believe you really want to use a recap then Inventor process to utilize the points properly

My version of Inventor doesn't give the option to import *.txt

Apparently you have to convert into a *.xls file!

Strange to say the least to remove such a basic function from 2017.
