Importing a model, want to make it a part

I'm importing a parasolid, and it comes in as an assembly with 30 components. I don't want all those components as seperate files, I just want 1 part file.

I can not merge the component parts, because some of the geometry is flaky and is not solid (it's surfaces). How can I make this just a single part?

I'm using SW 2001+.

If you are using 2003 you can do a Save-As and save it as a part. BBJT CSWP

Nope, that's a new feature in SW03. You will have to upgrade to get that feature.

You could use the Join command to join all the parts. Or ask whoever is creating the parasolid to save it as a single part file. Ray Reynolds

You could export each of the individual parts to a neutral file (IGES, STEP, or parasolid), and then import that into a part file using Insert-->Surface-->Imported Gravity is a harsh mistress.
