inconsistent authentication code when running IDEAS 10 1

I have a problem with running Ideas 10 on Windows XP. I have already red all the tips and articles on this forum but haven't found the solution for mine.

The problem is that the flexlm server starts but in the debug file I get something like that:

I have checked everything, is the licence file out of date?? Or there is something wrong with the OPT file??
Does anyone have an idea how to solve it??

I would put the opt file back to the default, unless you wish to run I-DEAS in Artisan configuration under the user name Roginski.

It doesn't look like the license is out of date as it appears to be a permanent license.

In the UK, licenses for I-DEAS provided by UGS have to be entered within 5 days of the date they are "cut". Was this entered straight away? and did you receive any direction to enter it within a certain timeframe.

Also suggest modifying the second line of the license file to explicitly select the license (although it should work as you have it) ie.

DAEMON eds_id10 D:\zainstalowane\IDEAS-10\sec\eds_id10.lic options=D:\zainstalowane\IDEAS-10\sec\eds_id10.opt

Have you set an environment variable for LM_LICENSE_FILE? Although if this was the problem the error would normally have be "License not found".

If none of this works then I'd suggest a reinstall.

Thanks for advise but unfortunalelly nothing works... I think I have found the problem.
Although in my flexlm manager I have paths to licence file and to lmgrd file specified when I am in Diagnostics and checking environment, all the fields are blank and "Effective LM_LICENCE_FILE=<not specified>".

It looks like the file manager see the file (use it, what can be seen in debug) but there is something wrong.

I entered the licence before 5 days time and I did't have any direction to enter it within a certain timeframe.

I have no idea what is wrong

It may be that you need to set the LM_LICENSE_FILE Environment variable

To do so:-

Start > Control Panel > System > Advanced Tab > Environment Variable

Then under system variables select New
Within the Variable Name field type: LM_LICENSE_FILE
Within the Variable Value field type: D:\zainstalowane\IDEAS-10\sec\eds_id10.lic

Careful with the spelling of License.

Thanks for the info, it was really helpfull. I didn't know how to set up environment After I set it up I had the same error (inconsistent authentication), but I used other licence and it started...
So now it runs.
