What are the advantages when we increase the supply voltage of a compressor motor from 6.6kV to 7.2kV?
What will happen to the motor when we do this increase? What happen to the current? Will it damage the motor? Will it damage the motor windings?

///The motor rated terminal voltage has been increased by about 9%, which is still within the NEMA MG-1 permitted upper terminal voltage limit of 10%. The motor current will be somewhat lowered or about the same. However, the motor will experience an increase in internal heat generation caused by the higher voltage across its paralleled magnetizing branch that includes the motor losses due to hysteresis remagnetization and Eddy currents\\What will happen to the motor when we do this increase?
///The motor will experience somewhat elevated temperature and about the same or lowered current.\\What happen to the current?
///The current will be about the same or lowered.\\ Will it damage the motor?
///Not if the motor has been built to NEMA Std MG-1 that permits a 10% motor terminal voltage increase.\\ Will it damage the motor windings?
///It will not damage the motor winding; however, it will reduce the motor life-cycle or life-expectancy.\\\

There are no net advantages besides job security. Increasing the voltage will decrease the overall efficiency of the motor, raising the temperature. For every 10 deg. C increase in motor temp., the insulation deterioration rate doubles. Ultimately you will create more rewind work for yourself.
