Indian Boiler Code ?

I have to make a small pressure vessel (a pulsation dampener) to Indian Boiler Code. I am given to understand that I must apply to an Indian state to register / appraise the design in order to comply with the code requirements, much like you might apply in Canada.

Can anyone help me with a pointer on who to talk to about this , as I am based in the UK and we have not done anything like this before. Our client seems only to be able to tell us where the equipment is going to in India which is not very helpful.

Is there an overall agency for this in India or are there individual agencies for each province / state.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Max

Try the following:

British Standards Institution. They may still publish a handbook under their Technical Help to Exporters service that summarised international requirements for pressure vessels.

Lloyd's Register may be able to carry out design appraisal under Indian Boiler Regs.

The information above is based on my knowledge when I was working on pressure vesel design appraisal six years ago.

There is a list with approved oversea's third parties that are IBR approved to inspect your vessel and issue a IBR certificate.
You have to hire them and they will tell you what to do.

Thanks for the advice guys.
