Does anyone have any information on Indoor Swimming Pool - Surrounding Ground Temperature Long Term Transient Heat Loading? I once read a post indicating how long term transient heat loading occurs in surrounding ground areas around and below indoor swimming pools, where over time (years) thermal transfer of heat from heated pools (82 deg F) heat loads the surrounding ground area to where the ground temperature next to the pool reaches an equilibrium temperature at our near the pool water temperature such that little or no heat loss from the pool to ground occurs.

As mentioned I once read a post indicating how long term transient heat loading occurs in surrounding ground areas around and below indoor swimming pools, where over time (years) thermal transfer of heat from heated pools (82 deg F) heat loads the surrounding ground area to where the ground temperature next to the pool reaches an equilibrium temperature at our near the pool water temperature such that little or no heat loss from the pool to ground occurs. Does this sound possible?

In your dreams..

While certainly the dirt against the pool will eventually reach pool temperature ~1" per /(12hours) the dirt just not next to the pool will be cooler and the dirt next to that dirt cooler yet. As this progression continues the perimeter expands coupling to more and more dirt. This all leads to energy flow away from the pool. Heat loss.

In your dreams back at you.

You should read up on the research by the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association, et al on surrounding ground temperature build over long term durations in and around closed loop geothermal well fields when cooling dominated loads continually reject heat to the adjacent ground areas. Soil conductivity and soil thermal resistance play a part in the modelling as well

I contend this occurs similarly in indoor heated swimming...

A closed loop borehole is similarly a point source

I'm so confused and fascinated by you MGMM. You posted this same question weeks ago and seem to have deleted those posts and then you post the exact same question again (worded extremely specifically). Then you don't seem to have a problem to solve, just opening up a discussion but when someone disagrees with the concept, you seem to take a stance on the topic (for what purpose?) I'm not trying to be rude or saying you're doing anything wrong, I'm just intrigued by this and it feels like we're talking to an AI or something.
