Induction Heat Treatment...good knowledge source handbook/bible requir

We induction heat treat axle shafts material SAE 1050 mod. on one of the shafts we are getting too hard with less heat effect depth where as I want more heat effect depth with with lower hardnesses as we head from surface towards the core. We use scan technique. can anyone recomend a good knowledge source, kind of a handbook/bible for induction heat treatment? Thanks
