Does anyone know if a loop detector saw cut into a cement floor in a class II div I class G environment is possible. The wire in the floor will be covered by a bondo type substance. I can not find any info on how much current will flow through the wire. I plan to mount the actual detector module outside of the hazardous area. Any input will be more than I can find and greatly appreciated

Thanks,
Scott

Well I doubt that will fly. It is an interesting question though.

All the other stuff 'intrinsically safe' or 'explosion proof' are 'certified' proven safe by a third party. Your floor scheme seems safe, but? It would be better if you could run the loop stuff thru an IS barrier then there would be no question.
