Does anyone know of a table that cross references industry standards for material call outs? (i.e.. SAE vs. ASTM vs. JIS vs. ISO vs. GW and so on...)
I understand between the different industry standards different test methods are used to quantify the specific properties but there should be some swag comparison table somewhere. Right?

Oh, I'm looking for a table that encompasses metals, & non-metals.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Recommended for you

"SAE AMS Index" (Aerospace Materials Specifications"

This may not have everything you want but it is an industry work-horse.

Thanks JLwoodward.
I called the SAE customer help line prior to posting this message and they indicated SAE publishes no such table.
I will look SAE AM Index and see if there is anything there though.

Thanks.

firstcount,

No single table exists. There are however several excellent references for worldwide metal equivalents. Use the following link for more information:

The Encyclopedia of Spring Design from the Spring Manufacturers Institute (SMI) covers this for most of the spring wire grades.

I've found that the UNS numbering system book is fairly comprehensive at least for the chemistry side of things. It does not however address heat treatment/cold work.
