Dear forummembers

Does anyone have experience in the issue below? If so please share.

We have chemicals, let it be aniline, being stored in 1k m3 tanks under N2 blanket. Chemicals are inhibitted by an antioxidant like butylhydroxytoluene, hydroquinone, and para-methoxyphenol.

The question is - some antioxidants require O2 must present in a system otherwise those do not work. E.g. I have encountered storing under 5.0%v O2 nitrogen blanket. Do these antioxidants require such or a tank can be padded with 0.4%v O2 nitrogen blanket?

Do these chemicals auto ignite when in contact with oxygen?

Even after nitrogen blanket, why inhibition is required? (assuming the tank inside is coated)

You can only really discuss this with the anti oxidant vendor technical specialist.

Doesn't matter what anyone else says - its what they say that matters.
