I am interested in finding out a couple of details about the chemi-blacking of ferrous alloys. I have carried out a Yahoo search, but cannot find a great deal.

Firstly, is it a type of phosphrous based conversion coating. Secondly, can anyone tell me how its friction co-efficient compares to uncoated steel.
