I'm trying to insert an Excel spreadsheet into an AutoCAD dwg. (2008 LT)

All I get is a small portion of it. As a matter of fact, if I try to insert it as a WMF, it's the same thing. Is there any way to get the whole spreadsheet to show in the dwg? Thanks.

Highlight what you want, Edit/Copy, go to Autocad drawing Edit/Paste. There are some limits that AutoCAD and Windows imposes so if your spreadsheet is large you will need another method.

I've done it, but I never found a way to make it look consistently good.

I'm not sure about LT...
Highlight the range of the spreadsheet you want to insert > Copy (Ctrl+C).
In Acad... File > Paste special > Paste (or Paste/link) as Autocad Entities. The spreadsheet will come in as a Table.

I have used MSPaint as a work-around. Perform a print screen of the spreadsheet and save to MSPaint. Insert the bitmap file in the drawing. The size of the spreadsheet could be a limitation with this method.

Good Luck

Mine look consistently great. Excel version is 2003, AutoCAD is 2004 and 2006. Copy/paste, not even paste special.

I have used OLE (object linking and embedding) to insert both Excel and Word files. When you edit the spreadsheet, you simply double-click it and Excel will launch. When done, you close the file and it is updated in AutoCAD. By the way, I use Office 2003 and AutoCAD 2004.

I do it the same way as DonPhillips described. Same with editing it later. I haven't had any problems with that process. Also using 2004. We just upgraded to 2007 and I have not tried it yet with the new version.

In excel, do highlight cells of interest>copy. Then paste in acad>right mouse click>resize highlighted area to suit drawing so as to be readable in paper space or model space.
