Insert Images onto a plane - 2d projected view

Is there a way to create a plane and insert an image onto it...the very same that you would do in Alias to generate 3D surfaces from 2D prints...

I ask this because I want to to some free-form surfaces and I will insert Front/Top/side views of the object, to be specific a car, and model the body in solidworks...

Attached in a screenshot of what I'm looking at doing...this is a screenshot of solidworks, don't know what version it is, but this is what I want to do...

With an sketch open, use Tools > Sketch Tools > Sketch Picture.

Also check out the 2D to 3D Toolbar.
