Inserting Image Onto 3DSketch Plane

How do I go about inserting an image onto a 3DSketch plane? I have always been able to insert and trace over images without issue on the primary planes.

Ultimately, I would like to import and trace over multiple images of variable tunnel cross sections at specified distances on 2D planes in order to loft between the 2D cross section profiles. Thus, I will have a 3D representation of the tunnel excavation. Is this possible?

Create a 2D sketch on the plane and then insert the Picture.
