Inspection Openings UG-46

The 2007 Section VIII Div 1 UG-46(g)(1) calls out 12" x 16" as minimum size for manhole. Does anyone know when this changed from 11" x 15" to 12" x 16"? I haven't been able to locate our copy of 2004 to see what size it listed.

The change was before the 2004 edition. I think 1 to 2 years.

Thanks for the reply. I wondered if the change was between in the 2004 & 2007 versions since we haven't had the AI questions the 11" x 15" manhole on our vessels.

This requirement came in with the 2001 Edition of VIII-1.
