Does anyone have any data regarding the relationship between man hours and inspectors?
It would be very helpful for our expected "ramp up" to know how many more inspectors may be necessary.
In a construction project, it also depends on the Customer's contract requirements. There are estimating standards used but they vary from company to company. Take a stab at 3% to 5%.
Allow me to expand on the circumstances. We are fabricating panels and some modular work for baghouses and SCR's. We also fabricate large ductwork, both square and round.
The dimensional and welding inspectors are home grown but are quite good.
My concern is going from 4000 mh/wk to 7000 mh/wk.
I had been thinking about maintaining the ratio. It happens to be 4.6%. Based on stanweld's input and the intensity of my guys' efforts, I feel pretty good about keeping with that.
