I have an Instron TT-D in the lab fitted with an XY chart drive amplifier. Does anyone still have access to such a machine? They were quite popular in the seventies but are no longer supported by the factory. I am setting up an extensometer for training demonstrations and would like to get the XY amplifier working again. Any information on this machine or the amplifier and how to connect it would be greatly appreciated. We have the maintenance manuals for the rest of the machine but the XY unit is not covered by them.
Regards
Ian

I wouldn't waste the time and effort to make this work. Using either Instron or a third party, I would get a digital system to condition the signals from the extensometer and the force cell. The costs are not that great, and the headache-savings are immense.

Cory

Thanks Cory, I agree that it is not economic to persist with the old controls and have several options for an upgrade. I was hoping to get it working simply as a demonstration machine and to help preserve a working example of the technology of the day. These were the last of the Instrons fitted with the old tube amps and at present it remains in totally original condition with everything working except for the output stage of the chart drive amplifier. I was hoping someone may have an old manual or schematic lying about for the chart drive amp so we could get it working as well.
