Instrument to measure gear tooth temperature 1

I would like to measure gear tooth temperature while gears are rotating high speeds. What is best instrument to measure tooth temperature? How to measure the tooth temperature while gears running?

IR thermography measures the thermal radiation coming from the gear tooth. You'll be able to measure the temperature while the gears are running as IR therm doesn't require direct contact to read temps.

Here, the gears are enclosed in a gearbox. It is not accessible to IR thermometer. Is it correct to use IR thermometer to measure gear temperature through the transparent material? What transparent material will allow the measurement of temperature through IR thermometer?
