Insulating joint (cable lugs)

dear all,

in order to connect surge Surge Diverter , its possible to add and weld cable lugs on pipeline insulating joint (thickness 8.6 mm) ?

Is it possible?

Yes, but only on the spool element and not on the section containing the insulation material

These are usually standard attachments.

You could also braze it on to reduce temperature issues.

Draw us a picture of the IJ and where you want to weld on your missing lugs.

why were these not included on the original data sheet / design? They are pretty standard items.

You can also weld them / CAD weld them on outside of the IJ and its spool piece.
