Integrally Reinforced Branch Connections (weld olet) minimum weld thickness

The minimum weld required for olet to run pipe as described below as per ASME 31.3, but if same followed for SS run pipe , there be distortion.
so is there any excuse for SS olet welding.

328.5.4 Welded Branch Connections
(i) Figure 328.5.4F shows additional integrally reinforced branch connections typical of MSS SP-97 fittings that abut the outside of the run attached by a full penetration groove weld. The welds shall be finished with cover fillets having a throat dimension not less than tc. The cover fillet weld shall fill and smoothly transition to the attachment weld and run pipe or fitting.

Several vendors offer 'light wall' design olets to help mitigate this issue, they are usually only rated for S/10 headers and/or limited to CL300 service.

What standard are those fittings made to GBT? Got a supplier catalogue or something? Not sure if the code sees them as integrally reinforced.
