I was wondering how you determine the value for elastic slip stiffness in Abaqus. I'm attempting to model orthogonal cutting and chip formation and I noted that the chip wasn't sliding up the tool once contact was made. Changing the elastic slip stiffness from "no slip" to a value began to fix this, although I am not sure how to calculate/measure what value should be input.
