I see that there is a tremendous amount of threads with NX3 loading of files (getting internal error and not loading them). I just also had the same problem with almost all of the files I created on NX3. I have no problem with files I created using v18. I went to my backup cd and tried to load the same NX3 files and they do not load. Has UG written code that locks files every so often so that you have to contact them to get them to work? I for one do not want to have to continuously contact UG for a problems. Is there a simple solution to this?
thanks

I think the problem may be due to the licence file of your NX3 copy - get in touch with the supplier he should be able to help by sending an update, - (this is a common problem with supplies originating from Russia)

There is a time factor built in to the licence file. To access your files you could set the computer clock back to when they were created and reboot, - if they open - this is the problem.

The errors related to files opening & licensing is more likely due to pirated licenses being used to create commercial UG parts. If there is a license issue with UG itself, UG won't even start up OR you won't be able to access modules shown in your license file.

I've been using UG since v11 & have never heard anything about a time factor for purchased licenses, only trial licenses.

Which version of UG are you running? Please be specific, as there are maintenance packs & maintenance releases available for NX3 that may fix your problem. What does GTAC say when you call them? Do they just say 'tough luck' and hang up the phone? You won't have to continuously contact UG if you send them your parts, open an Incident Report & let them find out what the problem is. But you must follow up with them if they fail to contact you with a solution.

thanks for the replies. I no longer work for the company that was using UG as the primary cad system so this problem is no longer a concern to me at this point.
thanks again.
