Hello everyone,
I've noticed in AMS2772, as well as other material specification, to determine the thickness, it says "thickness is the minimum dimension of the heaviest section" . For bar, rod, plate, this is quite simple, but if for a forging or some extrusion which have complex shape, how to understand the sentence "minimum dimension of the heaviest section"?
Previous my experience for determine effective thickness of a part is laying out a virtual maximum inscribed sphere in it, then the diameter of that sphere became the effective thickness, i'm not sure is this the intention of the definition "thickness" in AMS2772?
