Intersecting 2 tubes 4

Hello,
How do you make 2 hollow tubes intersect in a T form?

Start/Mechanical Design/Part design
enter sketcher
1 circle xy plane
exit sketcher
make pad with wall thickness (((hollow pipe))))
enter sketcher
1 circle yz plane
exit sketcher
make pad with wall thickness (((hollow pipe))))


NOW WHAT ????

I want to make a hollow T junction, ie I want to trim one pipe to another, or intersect the 2 solids and delete the extra lengths


I am NOT a catia whiz, so no one line answers please. show me the details

1. Extrude the outside of the pipe as a solid bar.
2. Create a new body and extrude a smaller solid bar representing the inside of the pipe.
3. Create a circular pattern for each
4. Create a new body and use a remove to subtract the inside from the outside.

Here you have V5R19, the uniontrim model is like the one mz7dyj uploaded and I added another where I used solid bars that I used shell to get the same result

I cannot open any of the uploaded files. For the Shell.catpart by Azrael i get the following incident report

No, you have a lower release of Catia than I had doing the models.... which release are you on? Sorry to say but I cannot go lower than R19.

Just checked your model and it's made on R17 level.... don't think you will find anyone here with that level installed. Current release is R22 or as they have chosen to call it now V5-6R2012, my point is that it is 5 releases behind and that an upgrade may be in place.

mz7dyj, it's been out for a while but they dropped the two digit designation so R22 is V5-6R2012

Hi,

About releases...there are giant companies which are still using r16 sau r18...they just don't want to upgrade each time when a release is comming, each one can have their own bugs so they prefer to stay on a stable, reliable release...and also some of them are planning to jump from what I mentioned before to another release which is not the latest....for the same reason.

Should I understand that Catia V5R22 has been created just for interface with the Catia V6 purpose? Is this the only updates from the R21?....

What I understand is that the change to the new designation is because V5 now is using the same 3d kernel as in V6, so V6 models can be translated with specs to V5 format. I also gathered that there are some news in the classic workbenchs PDG/GSD/ASD due to V6 functionalities becoming available.
