Hello everyone,

I work with Catia V5 Service pack 7 Build Number 24.
I am writing this post after try many ways to solve it and not find the solution.
The problem is that I have a .catpart file I can´t open. I have been working on it before ( in December ) without problems, and yesterday I tried to open it and I saw this error message.

Error Invalid geometric data. Document //server....(filename).CATPart cannot be read due to The stream can not be read: invalid data format. Accesing/Reading stream ?? failed with errno (??,??). Check the specified filename (or binary/ascii ftp protocol)...

Error Problem while reading document. Load operatin failed.

Error File corrupted

Error Invalid data. Not editor associated.

Warning The document has lost geometrical sub-elements.

It´s not a version problem.IT´s not a license problem. It´s not a filename problem. It´s not a file path problem. I tried with Catdua unsuccesfully.

If anyone knows how to solve it I would be really grateful because I spent many hours and I don´t get to the solution.

Thanks in advance.

Adrian.

Nobody knows the reason why is this happening?

Regards,

It just happen to me again with other file.
I created a new file on 02/25/2019 17:22, last save was on 02/25/2019 19:10. 3 days later, today.. I try to open and it gives me an error. I read in some comunities about it and they say it can be because the ftp transfer protocol is in ascii instead of binary.

We don´t have V6 installed.

Thank for your answer Fernando, gracias.

Are you doing something to these files? Maybe moving them to a different folder? Or renaming them? Or FTPing them to a different computer? I suspect something was done between 2/25 and 2/28.

Yes please tell us your not trying to open these files after transferring via ftp in ascii mode ?

No, I don´t. The last time I opened that catpart it was save in the same place as now, and nobody has saved it. As IT department informs me We use FTP in binary mode.

The FTP system is in binary.

We will try desactivating the fireware between the server and our computers for catia files and see if it works.

If you think the problem can come from other place, please let me know.

Thank you

I did not understood where exactly do you create this Parts, is it locally? or on a server?

On a server. I am speaking with Dassault Systemes but they are not sure where the problem is coming from.

Please let us know what the solution is, once Dassault helps you figure it out.
