INVAR 36/42 Weld Strength

Hello,

i have a long part that is hoisted by itself at 4 locations along its length. it is long and needed to be made from multiple parts.
my customer is concerned that the CJP weld for INVAR 36 that follows all necessary welding standards (low heat, TIG, etc.) for working with INVAR.

my real question is: Does invar have strength reduction from welding? because if not, then a CJP weld will be as strong, or stronger than the base material.

we only visually inspected the weld to begin with, and then offered NDI once we started getting this push back to verify its strength.

Have you looked at the material properties?
This stuff has so little strength to start with that I don't see any issue with welds other than messing up the thermal expansion.

it has strength similar or greater than A36 steel, which i know for a fact if CJP the weld joint will be at least as strong as the base material because of it being referenced in the AWS.

Fy = 36 and Fu = 71k for reference
