Inventor not recognizing constraints

I started a .iam file and it was working fine, then stopped recognizing constraints. It lets me put them in with no error but doesn't move the component. It even lets me put multiple conflicting constraints on the same component without lighting up the red cross. Constraints show up normally in the browser window with no conflict icon. I made sure the parts I'm experimenting with aren't grounded or even constrained to something else. Rebooting doesn't help.
