inverter for motor control

i am designing an inverter using igbt modules for single phase 1/2 hp motor now i am facing this problem that ouput from modules is a square wave of amplitude of dc link i want to create smoothing to get sine wave
what are the methods used for smoothing if there are any online article on this subject plz let me know

You need to switch the IGBTs at high frequency (few kHz) and modulate the switching pattern so you can use a low pass filter to regenerate something resembling a sinusoid.

Power electronics is not the friendliest place to learn basic electronics design - if you get it wrong, it is both expensive and dangerous when it goes bang. You sound like you need to buy a few good books on the subject, and then apply what you have learned. At the low power level you are considering, much of the information relating to Class D amplifier design will be relevant to your application.
