Does anybody know of a supplier that makes plastic IR filter that transmit in 450-650 nm region and block IR radiation? The total thickness of the IR filter has to be 200 um. Thanks!

I did but couldn't find anything that was relevant to my case. Lots of IR coatings on glass, but absolutely no suppliers that make IR blocking filters on plastic..

Most filters on plastic are organic, and tend to want to transmit IR. You most likely need an interference filter, which is most easily deposited on glass

There are colourants for plastic that filter IR and transmit visable. It has been covered in detail several times before as it has also for UV.

Some of the IR threads where the opposite situation where they wanted IR transparency and visible opacity.

Certainly such dyes and pigments are available for certain laboratory glassware.

You need to contact suppliers of dyestuff and pigment. BASF, CIBA, Bayer all spring to mind. I am sure there have been mergers and name changes and new players from Asia, but you can search for that as easily as I can.

I asked BASF about this product

but they didn't get back to me yet, not sure if they have this commercially available. there must be some car window coating out there, but i don't think they will be as efficient in IR cut or not as we want a more sophisticated product with very clear cut-off ranges like transparency in 450-650 nm.
