Hello All

Background: API 6A valve. PSL 3. PR 2. Material Carbon Steel to meet 75K. Impact test required at -29.

Product form: Forging.

The material is not a standard material listed in Table 5.1 of API 6A.

Now the question is regarding Equivalent Round:

What does Equivalent Round signify?
Does it signify the final shape of the specimen (Just prior to testing, test specimen dimension) or does it signify the test coupon size?

If ER signifies test coupon size, is it permitted to use 1/2" A 370 specimen for tensile testing?

Is it OK to forge a separate test block (In the context of 5.6 and 5.7 of API 6A)?
Or is it mandatory to Treepan or to have a sacrificial forging or to have a attached prolongation?
