Dear All,

HecRAS usually uses x y z coordinates data and changes into the elevation and river reach. But what I want to do is do the reverse. I want to use the information given in HECRAS to find out. X y z coordinates. I know HecRAS doesn't require the exact coordinate system but I have some data from another source to find the reference exact coordinates. I don't know whether it is possible to extract data in the format I described. Would you please give me some advise so that I can start ?

Thank you

jdcivil - you can export gis data from a HECRAS model that was originally set up using the spacially correct data. If the model was "hand-coded" then one cannot export the data with xyz coordinates.

HI gbam,

Thank you for your suggestion but I don't know how to export gis data from HECRAS model. Would you give me some ideas or examples so that I would be able to perform the export process ? Thank you so much.

jdcivil - under the "file" menu there is export to gis, right below generate report.

Thank you gbam I was able to export to gis.
