My working place has conveyor to transport bottom ash from scrapper to bottom ash silo. Currently this transporting system has problem about bottom ash that carried back. I read in this article :

that they use cleaning tool which they called it cleanscrape to minimize bottom ash carry back.

My question is, it is safe to using this cleanscrape or other cleaning tool ? because this tool in my opinion will make heat from friction between conveyor and cleaning tool. Bottom ash is coal of course, which make make worried will it be burned if I use cleanscrape/ other cleaning tool ?

Thanks everyone

It may depend on the type of scraper to be used, and how much heat from the friction which may raise the temperature to the flash point.

Such scrapers / cleaners are common to fulfill the functionality you require.

With ash, wear on belt and scraper blades as well as material buildup / sticking may be issues.

Just contact that supplier (its a well respected one in the industry), describe your needs, they'll at least point you in the right direction.
