is it safe to weld A36 to S275JR 1

I have a steel chimney(4m OD x 42m tall) that the fabricator could not source all plate using A36. He suggested to replace part steel as S275JR. Is A36 and S275JR weldable together? Is it safe? Thanks for advance for advise.

Yes, the S275JR is considered a structural carbon steel, and would work.
