I thought the attached pictures are very apt in today's society.

Are the first 6 supposed to all be the same? I can't find any differences.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. If it's not safe ... make it that way.

Big Inch, you probably have to click on each picture file to open it. You can't just click "next" arrow.

I still got the same. They all have the same name, to boot.

Nonetheless, the issue is whether "technology" in some abstract sense is good for us; it's whether any given technology has a benefit that outweighs its costs. Otherwise, we would still be in the Stone Age, but some enterprising soul(s) figured how to make bronze tools that resulted in better productivity and trade opportunities with those that were still using stone tools.

They all worked for me. I especially think that the one regarding the teacher and the one about the television sets vs viewer weight are especially on the mark. I tried to copy these to my desktop, but was unable to.

The technology worked for me, but it tells a really sad tale. The fat man and the thin television hit home. Now off for my walk........

yes, a big difference in generations. it is easy to flip the circuit breaker for the kids room. better to go outside and walk with the kids to burn that sugar.

I still got the same. They all have the same name. It's mostly good, but only when it works. When it doesn't it's worse than before.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. If it's not safe ... make it that way.

It is a zipped folder, and they all opened for me in MS Office Picture Manager.

On the flip side, some technology is very good. Even 20 years ago, I couldn't imagine holding conversations with engineers in Australia or England -- now there's this forum and we don't even bat an eye about where people live.

We've also mentioned health problems in another thread. Some of us might not be here to kvetch without the technologies that have been invented in the last few years. And, having suffered a small stroke a couple years ago, I include myself in that group.

With all due respect, you can look for the dark side in anything. If you look around, you will find children playing outside -- and be annoyed by them. Or you will find them glued to the television set -- and be annoyed by that. You will find pudgy adults and find fault with their lifestyle; or you will find the ultrathin exercise addicts and find fault there. Me, I've decided the problem is internal in how I view others and that it's all ok.

So, I for one, will say, yes technology is good.

Technology has no inherent good or bad to it. The good or bad comes entirely from mans use of the technology.

I didn't have any problems with the zip file and found the cartoons to be amusing.

Any technology can be used for good or used for evil, or probably more to the point, every technology will be used for good by some, and every technology will be used for evil by others.

Good Luck
